Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for performing a combination of business and clerical support functions that encompass a wide range of responsibilities. Tasks may vary from day to day as clinic operations require and could include:
- scheduling and coordination of drug screens
- computer posting of charges
- registration and/or appointment scheduling
- greeting and assisting patients, visitors, physicians and staff members in a courteous, caring and professional manner
- providing assistance to patients as needed;
- screening, responding to, and/or routing telephone calls to the appropriate staff member
- providing non-clinical information or taking messages according to office policy and procedure
- screening patients for appropriate information to complete the registration process
- maintain working knowledge of billing processes for accurate handling of patient accounts
- order and maintain office supplies and equipment
- pull charts and/or retrieve information from electronic health record as needed
High school diploma or GED certificate required.
A minimum of one year of job related computer/clerical experience is preferred.
Must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail as critical elements of position.
Must have the ability to exercise good judgment, maintain good interpersonal relationships, adapt to change, evaluate critically and think creatively.
Must demonstrate knowledge and skills required for specialized area of assignment.
Must be able to work effectively with people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with patients, providers, co-workers, other healthcare personnel, the public.
