Qualified candidate will manage team members, operate all areas of the business and ensure the highest safety standards and levels of satisfaction for all pets and pet parents.

Examples of duties/responsibilities include:

  • Lead by example by creating and sustaining a positive, team-orientation culture,
  • Ensuring the highest levels of customer service and safety standards,
  • Maintaining controllable expenses, seek opportunities to maximize efficiency as well as realizing where new sales opportunities exist.
  • Full management of staff of 15-20 employees.

Prior experience should include:

  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience managing a customer facing, high service providing company.
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience leading a team of 10 or more full and part time employees.
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in scheduling, performance management, and financial/budgetary accountability.
  • At least 2 or more years of managing a dog daycare or similar facility.

Full GM Job Description:

The primary role of the General Manager is to oversee all functions of their location, while developing brand awareness under the Dogtopia brand. This requires using a variety of methods to create opportunities for exposure and growth. The General Manager is responsible for all facets of management for their team members, operating all areas of business in their location, and ensuring the highest safety standards and levels of satisfaction for all pets and their pet parents.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drives new leads and lines of business utilizing marketing KPIs to reach new customers.
  • Oversees lead follow-up and meet and greet and lead contact via the front desk team.
  • Develops front desk team to proactively look for opportunities for up-selling and using dog Evaluations to grow revenue
  • Manages social media posts for all stores and individual media pages with guidance from the owners.
  • Serves as community liaison and builds the brand via grassroots efforts with vets, shelters, local community groups.
  • Participates in promotional activities or events to promote their location.
  • Oversees all hiring, onboarding and employee management for their locations, including training compliance.
  • Maintains optimum staffing levels and labor costs for their assigned location.
  • Manages the schedule for all location employees.
  • Monitors the playrooms and knows all dogs in the facility to ensure safety and appropriate daily assignments.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment utilizing cleaning protocols to ensure our facility is the cleanest in the industry, to provide an exceptional experience for our pets and their parents.
  • Maintain and update cleaning schedule, along with holding themselves and team accountable to the Dogtopia’s safety and cleaning standards.
  • Dismisses dogs proactively with ongoing behavior issues and monitors action plans to retain those with minor issues.
  • Manages spa and grooming including quality control of work, safety, schedules and client records.
  • Maintains controllable expenses within budgetary constraints including forecasting, tracking and ordering supplies, minimizing payroll, and actively look for ways to maximize efficiency.
  • Communicates any concerns or needs to franchise owner proactively and partnering after attempting to resolve issues.
  • Strives for the highest level of satisfaction for our pets, pet parents, and teams.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,500.00 - $52,000.00 per year
