Job description
The purpose of this position is to determine an associate’s eligibility for a leave of absence and process requests that the system is unable to auto complete. The impact this position has on Publix is to ensure that the company complies with laws mandated by the Federal Government.

- Responsible for determining an associate’s eligibility for a leave of absence and processing all corresponding leave records
- Responsible for generating prior period adjustments (PPA’s) and creating or updating leave records after PPAs have been submitted
- Responsible for running, researching, and completing weekly/monthly reports
- Responsible for processing separations and corrections in an accurate and timely manner
- Responsible for processing retirement lists and settlement forms
- Responsible for mailing out Initial and Periodic leave notifications
- Responsible for completing Leave of Absence letters when requested
- Responsible for answering calls regarding FMLA, Separations and general Personnel Records polices
- Responsible for various other duties as assigned by the Team Leader and Supervisor
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to handle a high volume of work accurately and efficiently
- Strong mathematical skills
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision, and as a team player
- Professionalism and confidentiality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service oriented
- Good attendance and punctuality record
- Flexibility in job schedule (may need to work overtime (early or late) or weekends on occasion)
