Packaging Material Handler I
Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to determine materials to be moved; receives, opens and stores incoming materials and components; and maintains inventory of materials, components or supplies. Responsibilities are to provide components to the packaging lines as required. Including but not limited to replenishment of material to lines, put away product that was not consumed during packaging process, maintaining the inventory levels within THI ERP system in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Operates pallet-jack, forklift, or by other methods, moves material according to instructions provided by a packaging lead person
- Verifies and ensures that materials pulled from inventory match the components on the work order (picklist)
- Ensures that material transfer activities are performed in a timely and efficient manner and documented as per company policy
- Maintains tidiness and cleanliness in the packaging and warehouse areas
- Stacks and stores materials in designated areas
- Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations
- Assist in the cycle count program as required
- Set-up and stage material for packaging lines
- Assist in loading or moving materials and products; lifts heavy objects by hand or with forklift
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Preferred: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or one year certificate from college or technical school
Desired: Minimum of 1 year working in a manufacturing environment
Considered: No previous experience in a manufacturing facility
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in
standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Forklift certification a plus.
