Purpose of Position:
The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for writing embedded code in a team environment which includes the research, design, debug, and tests next generation network management software systems while contributing to the existing product lines.
What You'll Do:
- Design, implement, and debug embedded software.
- Work closely with hardware design team.
- Works closely with the quality assurance and testing team.
- Develop feature enhancements and provide development support for existing product lines.
- Work in both an independent and team environment to meet multiple product release cycles.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- BS degree (BSCE/CS) and/or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ experience in a software development role
- 3+ years’ experience in embedded C/C++ development for Linux or RTOS
- Experience with systems programming using Linux.
- Experience developing under Linux; comfortable with Linux tools.
- Experience with various interface buses, e.g., MDIO, 12C, SPI, PCI
- Experience with software/hardware integration
- Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or a similar scripting language
- Basic understanding of networking and switching
Additional Qualifications:
- In-Depth Knowledge of networking protocols, e.g., GRE, ERSPAN, VXLAN
- Understanding of cryptography and security
- Data plane development experience with multicore processors and SoC (Octeon, Freescale, etc.)
- Familiar with switching ASIC
