Purpose of Position:

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for writing embedded code in a team environment which includes the research, design, debug, and tests next generation network management software systems while contributing to the existing product lines.

What You'll Do:

• Design, implement, and debug embedded software.
• Work closely with hardware design team.
• Works closely with the quality assurance and testing team.
• Develop feature enhancements and provide development support for existing product lines.
• Work in both an independent and team environment to meet multiple product release cycles.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• BS degree (BSCE/CS) and/or equivalent experience
• 5+ years’ experience in a software development role
• 3+ years’ experience in embedded C/C++ development for Linux or RTOS
• Experience with systems programming using Linux.
• Experience developing under Linux; comfortable with Linux tools.
• Experience with various interface buses, e.g., MDIO, 12C, SPI, PCI
• Experience with software/hardware integration
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or a similar scripting language
• Basic understanding of networking and switching

Additional Qualifications:

• In-Depth Knowledge of networking protocols, e.g., GRE, ERSPAN, VXLAN
• Understanding of cryptography and security
• Data plane development experience with multicore processors and SoC (Octeon, Freescale, etc.)
• Familiar with switching ASIC
