ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and manage evolving versions of Sun Energy’s Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Project Plan template
using AutoCAD, Microsoft, and Bluebeam (PDF) software.
Conduct “peer reviews” on submitted Solar PV Project plans.
Ensure that Solar PV Project plans are developed following city/county building and fire codes associated within the project’s township.
Perform solar analyses to ensure the photovoltaic electrical, array placement, and structural requirements are achieved.
Produce quality work. Meet design schedule.
Develop Solar PV measures and metrics that capture Solar Designer’s workflow and productivity.
Measures tied directly to Solar Designer’s product quality are incentivized.
Ensure Operation’s Department measures and metrics PV source data is being captured and is
retrievable from Sun Energy’s “project database”.
Contribute improvements to Engineering’s team productivity measures and metrics.
Participate in Operation’s meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
Participate in mentoring relationship with senior engineer.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Prefer qualified candidates to have a BS, BSEE/BSME or MSEE/MSME. Solar Contractor License, PE
Electrical, or PE Structural is a plus
Five-years minimum proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft office, and Solar Tools.
Experience with homes construction and/or solar is a plus. Solar design experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to give direction, coaching and training to improve team performance.
Strong detail-orientation and proofreading skills; attention-to-detail is a must.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
