Requirements/Qualifications:
- Problem Solving:
- Basic math skills.
- Knowledge of simple industrial equipment, ability to determine and report operational problems and provide remedies.
- Physical Capability: Work requires frequent standing, bending, lifting, scooping, reaching, stretching, pulling and pushing.
- Must be able to withstand exposure to undesirable elements such as noise, dust, heat, dirt or fumes.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds with or without assistance.
- Must be able to move 700-pound drums using a pallet jack.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to complete assigned paperwork neatly and thoroughly.
- Independent judgment skills required for nonstandard procedures; with ability to make accurate decision in the Supervisor's absence.
- Ability to train others in the proper use of ball mills.
- Ability to work with and answer questions from Customer Representatives.
- Ability to operate mechanical equipment such as a forklift (on the job training required prior to operating)
- Ability to operate ball mills, sifters, and tumblers.
- Ability to determine the most appropriate ball mill on which to process the various materials.
- Ability to use a calculator Ability to use scales for weight checks
- Ability to determine when equipment is not running properly and to report it to the Lead Person or Supervisor.
- Moving material to be processed from original location to processing area using a forklift.
- Weighing material on scale before and after it is processed to ensure correct weights.
- Recording description of materials being processed if different from the process sheets.
- Maintaining good recordkeeping by marking barrels with the correct lot number and maintaining a drum count of material being processed.
- Using process sheet to record time, date, and weight of material being processed.
- Loading, unloading, and cleaning ball mills after every lot has been processed.
- Prioritizing jobs. Following all of the company's standard operating procedures and quality policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required or requested.
- Workplace Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Equipment Operation: Periodically maintaining department equipment.
- Regulatory Requirements: Per training provided, follow all safety and environmental rules and regulations of the company.
- High school diploma, GED or previous experience as required by the job.
- One year experience in a chemical manufacturing company preferred, but will train qualified person. Previous experience driving a forklift and operating a ball mill preferred but not required.
Pay rate: $20-$23 hourly
